It is 3:10pm and the Champlain Four are hard at it. Their workspace has evolved from an open configuration that allows people to walk up very easily and speak with the project team to more of a tabled-off space which does not entirely discourage visitors but also does not allow for easy access to the project team. I think this is a very logical move as we move towards the next milestone, which is a check-in with Elliott Masie sometime after 4:20, during the last general session of the day. Right now, Joe Manley, one of the Champlain staff members, is answering questions for visitors and serving as the teams friendly face to attendees.
Joe Manley also just captured some video of the team and is working to upload the video at this time. Until we get some video online for you, I have posted some images for your viewing pleasure.
You can see that the team has divided up the tasks and they have at this point some very impressive visual elements, which they can show if necessary later when Elliott calls over for a status check on the project. For much of the graphics work, the team is using Autodesk Maya, and the final product will be exported to Adobe Flash and compiled for the game. So it appears that Wes is doing much of the Flash work, Emily is working in Maya, and Wes, Lauren, and Ben all appear to be working in Flash.
I can't give you too many more details because the team is very focused at this point and I don't want to disturb their progress. As the day progresses it's going to be very difficult to maintain this level of intensity, so as I see their need for a break, I'll likely use that opportunity to get additional updates to post here.
